Jessie K’s post:
Without the Telehealth system how do you think the smaller hospitals would be? I am assuming that there are procedures or training that the smaller communities cannot afford to have, do they use this to train them?
No matter what you have to have coordination to reach the goal of an organization. Social media marketing allows us to target our specific audience, but how does
that relate to collaboration?
I agree that technology allows you to take the project to the next level. It also
allows you to innovate, because you can go across the country and still stay in
touch with your team members while you are working on finding a solution or
product that fits the need. Do you think you coulud work in a job that is 80%
virtual 20% face-to-face with co-workers and managers?
Shallen W’s post:
Yes, in addition to meetings there are numerous training sessions held on Telehealth for nurses
and sometimes the providers as well. Without Telehealth, I believe smaller hospitals would need
to increase their education budgets significantly in order to account for the travel expenses.
Social media marketing relates to collaboration being able to gather other thoughts and ideas in
order to improve an existing process or product. This type of collaboration can especially be
used when dealing not only with marketing a product, but also with social causes such as non-governmental organizations. By using social media, NGO’s are able to develop solutions to
various problems through the use of collaboration via technology.
I absolutely think I could work in a job that is 80% virtual and 20% face-to-face. My reasoning is that in order to keep myself motivated and prioritize this aspect of my life;
I have treated completing my degree as if it were a job. Since I have successfully taken every
class online, I know I would be able to work a job that is predominately virtual in nature.
Jerremy F’s post:
1. The only experience I can think of at the moment about using collaboration technology is a teleconference I was a part of in my high school Spanish class (I know
pretty old school-in my current job as a lineman, I don't really have access to collaborating other
than face to face). We would link up with other schools in the state and interact
with those students as well as an instructer. I thought at the time it was really
great, bringing many different people together to work on a topic (speaking Spanish).
I know that it has been improved since then with the likes of video conferencing.
I do think that video conferencing is not the end, with new technology advancing
every day, the possibilities are endless.
2. I think collaboration is helping to change how we work and manage teams,
because in such a global environment it is necessary for keeping up. By
collaborating, a business can draw experience and ideas from all over the world,
and in the blink of an eye. It also allows smaller companies to compete with larger
ones, by outsourcing talent on a need basis rather than having that talent on the
payroll.
3. I think collaboration and innovation do relate. There is a huge pool of talent to
draw from to foster innovation through collaboration. I do think that it can be
done through technology, but there is still a need for face to face interactions. As
mentioned in the videos, and links to the articles you posted, nothing can replace
the personal interactions of meeting face to face. In our text, Hackman also
recommends that a virtual team meet at least once in the beginning of the project. Get Professional Help with Your Research Essay Paper Today From Our Student Essay Service!
