Business Briefing Papers

Business Briefing Papers



Due 4/27/2014 at 4 AM Eastern Standard Time. No specific page count, but there is a 200 word minimum response required for each briefing. All pages from book needed are attached as a PDF. 

Read the call-of-the-question carefully, and follow the instructions for each subject. Prepare four briefing papers using the APA format for research papers, and upload them as one document for your response.



Briefing Paper 1: Critical Legal Thinking



Instructions:



•    Read The Facebook, Inc. v. Winklevoss in your Cheeseman textbook on pages 190-191.

•    Respond to the three Case Questions found in the Cheeseman textbook on page 191.

•    Assume your readers know the facts of the case as articulated in the Critical Legal Thinking, Ethics and Contemporary Business questions. Argue both sides of all three issues.



Briefing Paper 2: Law Case with Answers



Instructions:



•    Read City of Everett, Washington v. Mitchell in your Cheeseman textbook on page 201.

•    Assume your readers know the facts of the case and are only seeking your opinions on disposition the contents of the locked compartment in the safe. Argue both sides of your decision.



Briefing Paper 3: Critical Legal Thinking Cases



Instructions:



•    Read the following sections in your textbook:

      o    Sections 9.5 Gifts (p. 203),

      o    10.7 Liquidated Damages (p. 225),

      o    11.4 Electronic Signature (p. 241), and 

      o    9.6 Mental Incapacity (p. 203).

•    Check the decisions of the highest appellate courts, if a case is cited, for each fact pattern.

•    Assume your readers know the facts of each scenario and are seeking your opinions on whether or not each of the four subjects affect business in the United States. If so, provide the worst and best case scenarios.



Briefing Paper 4: Ethics Case



Instructions:



•    Read Section 9.12 Ethics in your Cheeseman textbook on page 205.

•    Assume your readers know the facts of the case and are only seeking your opinions on the three questions found at the end of Section 9.12. Argue both sides of all issues.
