After the Fall of the Roman Empire, Europe experienced a period called the Dark Ages. The outset of this period is often called the Migration. Why? Briefly describe the pockets of power that took the place of the crumbling Roman Empire at the outset of the Middle Ages. Introduce an uncommonly discussed group of people who gained power during this time.
